Pictures That Paint Themselves

The starting point of my art is the observation of nature. The occurrence of organized structures and regular patterns in our world captures my attention. Searching for forces in nature that generate order by themselves, I employ these procedures to produce my art. They are created solely through the principle of self organization, not by my hands. The pictures paint themselves. The momentum and creativity of the material play a decisive role in the design process, as I am no longer the sole creator of my work. This way of working requires a new perception of my role as an artist.

This way of creating requires a new self-image on the part of the artist. He is no longer the sole creator of his work of art, but the momentum and creativity of the material play a decisive role in the design process.
